I have to go a little distance to get great service but I don't mind after what I had to deal with before The only con that I have run in to is programing, the radio shops around my home are not to nice to work with some charging just to ask a question of a tech and flat out refusing to work with any ham freq and abiding by what the rules say. With the smart charger it takes the worry of overcharge or undercharge of a battery As far as the battery life it is by far better then any amateur ht I have worked with, charge it every couple days and it will run like a workhorse. I will admit it is a little heavy to carry around (Looking to get a leather holster to fix that).
